Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving yesterday. We had a wonderful time eating delicious food and having good conversations with family. That night as I rocked Everly to sleep, I really started thinking about everything I was thankful for which made me think of a post I read awhile back. In the post, the blogger takes about what if you woke up to only what you thanked God for the night before. That got me to thinking about how many time would I wake up to nothing because I don’t end or start my day thanking God for a blessed day or even for allowing me to wake up in the morning.
Since reading that post, I have been much more intentional about thanking God for blessing me with all that I have. I have a healthy family, a home, a car to drive, etc. But I realized that I needed to be thankful for even the smaller things. The things you don’t even think about like clean water, electricity, the freedom to have a Bible and go to church. Living in America, we take so much for granted, and I feel like we aren’t truly thankful for what we have because we’ve never been without. The worst we may have it is when the power goes out for a few hours and it feels like there is nothing to do.
This holiday season, I encourage you to slow down and take a moment to think about all the blessings in your life. No matter how big or small, they all effect us in some way, and without them, life could be harder for us.
Ultimately, be thankful for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father that pours out his blessings on us daily!! Blessings that we may not even realize we’re receiving.
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 5:20
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 107:1
